The CCI group of companies ("We") respect and are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy wherever we or our customers do business.
We are committed to complying with the applicable data privacy and security requirements in the countries in which we and our customers operate. Because of the differences among these jurisdictions, we have adopted a policy which has a set of core values, policies and procedures intended to achieve compliance.
This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect or is provided to us will be processed by us or our subcontractors. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.
Where we provide personal data in relation to persons resident in Mauritius, this will be processed in accordance with The Data Protection Act 2004.
INFORMATION WE MAY COLLECT ON YOU
We are responsible to our customers for any information which is collected by our subcontractors.
We and our subcontractors may collect and process the data we receive from you, our customers, and data received from data providers, in accordance with these terms.
We or our subcontractors may receive information about you by you filling in forms or by corresponding with us or them by phone, e-mail or otherwise. This includes information in jurisdictions other than Mauritius including when you register to use our customer’s sites, subscribe to their service, place orders, participate in web chats, enter competitions, promotions or surveys and when our subcontractor provides contact centre services. We and our subcontractors also use data which has been purchased from third parties to use for our customers. The information we and our subcontractors receive may include your name, address, e-mail address and phone number, financial and credit and other information which is pertinent to the product or service of our customers.
We and our subcontractors will receive information about you from our or their interaction with you. This may be combined with information you give to us or our subcontractors or our customers, and information we and they collect about you. This information may be used and the combined information used for the purposes set out above (depending on the types of information received).
USES MADE OF THE INFORMATION
We undertake to process your personal information fairly and lawfully. Information held about you will be used in the following ways:
- to carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and our customers and to provide you with the information, products and services that you request from them;
- to provide you with information about other goods and services they may offer or which they feel may interest you;
- to provide and receive your details to and from our subcontractors;
- to provide you, or permit our customers or selected third parties to provide you with information about goods or services we or they feel may be of interest to you.
YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION SHALL NOT BE FURTHER PROCESSED IN ANY MANNER INCOMPATIBLE WITH THE PURPOSES FOR WHICH WE HAVE OBTAINED IT.
DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION
We may share your information with selected third parties including business partners, suppliers, customers, and our subcontractors for the performance of any contract we enter into with them or you. We will ensure that there is sound contractual basis for sharing any of your personal data and that appropriate security safeguards are in place to adequately protect your data.
We may share your personal information with any member of our group including our holding and subsidiary companies.
We may also disclose your personal information to third parties in the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets, or if our group companies or substantially all of their assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data will be one of the transferred assets.
We may also share your personal data where we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or comply with the terms and conditions of agreements which we have entered into; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the CCI group of companies, our customers, subcontractors or others. This may include exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
WHERE WE STORE & TRANSFER YOUR PERSONAL DATA
It is our policy to destroy personal information once there is no longer a legal or business need for us to retain it.
We will provide access to personal information upon request by you, except in the limited circumstances in which it is permitted for us to withhold this information (for instance, where granting access would infringe another person's privacy).
When you make a request to access personal information, we will require you to provide some form of identification (such as an identity card or passport) so we can verify that you are the person to whom the information relates. In some cases, we may also request an administrative fee to cover the cost of access.
You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes.
If you believe that information we hold about you is incorrect or out of date, or if you have concerns about how we are handling your personal information, please contact us and we will try to resolve those concerns.
If you wish to have your personal information deleted, please let us know and we will take reasonable steps to delete it (unless we need to keep it for legal or other legitimate reasons).
The amended policy will apply between us whether or not we have given you specific notice of any change.
